Les collections d'Eburomagus sont issues des fouilles archéologiques menées sur le territoire du Lauragais. Elles témoignent de l'évolution de la présence humaine dans l'ouest audois. A partir de 2000 un bâtiment est aménagé par la commune pour permettre le transfert des objets du dépôt voisin de Castelnaudary. Les objets les plus représentatifs de la vie quotidienne et des échanges, de la préhistoire au moyen âge, sont sélectionnés pour figurer dans l'exposition permanente du musée, qui ouvre en 2006. Il reçoit l’appellation Musée de France en 2012. Eburomagus regroupe aujourd'hui un musée de France, un dépôt archéologique de l’État, une antenne de l'office intercommunal du tourisme et le siège d’une association dédié à l’archéologie.
