Help us keep AbleSpot alive
AbleSpot grows thanks to the people who take the time to share what they know.
Adding one piece of information about a place is already a valuable contribution. But if you would like to go further, we also need people ready to help us regularly.
Moderating contributions, improving entries, flagging information that looks wrong, filling in places you know, or simply lending a hand: there are several ways to take part.
Why join us?
AbleSpot rests on a simple idea: one precise piece of information can save another family a lot of searching, a pointless journey or a bad surprise.
The more places and contributions there are, the more it matters to count on people who know the ground and understand what the project is for.
You do not need to be an accessibility specialist.
Nor do you need to know every answer.
What matters is paying attention to facts, not assuming what you do not know, and sharing information as precisely as possible.
Becoming a moderator or a contributor
AbleSpot's moderators and contributors help keep the information published on the site alive.
Depending on what you feel like doing and the time you have, you could:
- fill in information about places you know
- help check that contributions hold together
- correct or flag information that has gone out of date
- improve existing entries
- help add new places
- help AbleSpot evolve, thanks to what you know of the ground
There is no target number of contributions and no obligation to be available.
Even a few minutes now and then can help.
Who can take part?
Anyone.
You may be a parent, a relative, a carer, a person concerned by disability, a professional, a member of an association, someone running a venue… or simply want to take part in the project.
AbleSpot will not ask you to justify your own situation or that of someone close to you.
Above all we are looking for people who share the same way of contributing: describe what you know, say what you do not know, and never turn an assumption into information.
Another way to help?
Would you like to suggest a partnership, represent an association or a venue, report a problem to us, or simply tell us about an idea?
Write to us as well.
AbleSpot is still being built, and the people who use it can also help decide what it becomes.
Get in touch
Just choose the reason for your message and tell us in a few words how you would like to take part.
You do not need to be an expert to be useful.
Knowing a place, checking a piece of information, or taking a few minutes to help keep an entry up to date can already make someone's next outing easier.
