Au cours de l'été 1968, le maire de Boussy-Saint-Antoine, Georges Coubard, invite le peintre André Dunoyer de Segonzac à venir voir l'ancienne demeure familiale de l'artiste. Ainsi est née l'idée d'aménager la chambre natale de celui-ci en Musée. L'inauguration a lieu le 8 novembre suivant, en présence du secrétaire d'État à l’Éducation nationale M. Léo Hamon. L'inauguration de l’actuel Musée-Bibliothèque a lieu le 17 novembre 1984, lors des manifestations du centenaire de la naissance du peintre (1884-1974). Il abrite la donation Dunoyer de Segonzac. Important ensemble de gravures, de lithographies, de cuivres rayés, d'affiches et de catalogues d'exposition, de photographies de famille, de documents, de médailles et d'ouvrages provenant, pour la plupart, de la bibliothèque de l'artiste.
