Le musée de Vic, créé en 1908 et inauguré en 1910 par l'Empereur d'Allemagne Guillaume II, a subi de nombreuses dégradations au cours des première et deuxième guerres mondiales. Les collections rassemblées depuis évoquent le temporel (250 villages) des évêques de Metz dont Vic fut la capitale de 1238 à 1648, et l'histoire de la vie et de l’œuvre du peintre vicois Georges de La Tour. Le musée, ouvert en 2003, est issu de la collection du musée municipal d'Art et d'histoire de Vic-sur-Seille.
