Le musée, créé en 1968 par l'Association du Comité de la faïencerie de Samadet, donné au département des Landes en 1999, à réouvert ses portes en 2002 après une période de restructuration. Le musée comprend trois salles : - la première présente l'historique de la "Manufacture Royale de fayence" (1732-1841) les différentes céramiques (faïences, porcelaine, grès) et les étapes de fabrication et de décoration de la faïence et d'autre part l'historique de la manufacture ; - la deuxième salle est consacrée à la faïence et aux influences qu'elle a subies (peintres voyageant de manufacture en manufacture), et la mode de l'époque ; - La troisième salle montre l'évolution des arts de la table (us et coutumes, gastronomie) du Moyen Âge à nos jours.
