Pour valoriser son patrimoine et faire connaître son histoire, l'Assistance Publique a créé son musée en 1934. Il constitue le musée hospitalier le plus ancien en France et possède à ce jour près de 12.000 œuvres et objets inventoriés (peintures, sculptures, dessins et gravures, mobilier, traités, instruments médicaux et objets de soins, collections pharmaceutiques.). Leur diversité témoigne des nombreux aspects de la vie hospitalière, du moyen âge à nos jours. Actuellement fermé au public, le Musée de l'Assistance publique - Hôpitaux de Paris fait aujourd’hui l’objet d’une réflexion quant à son redéploiement.
