Charles-Louis Philippe est né à Cérilly en 1879 et mort à Paris en 1909. Sa maison natale - petite maison à la façade étroite, élevée sur deux étages et encastrée entre deux autres bâtiments - abrite un musée qui retrace sa vie et son œuvre. Ce musée, restauré en 1994 et labellisé « Maisons des illustres » en 2012 par le ministère de la Culture.
