Le musée Casa Pairal, axé sur les arts et traditions populaires catalans, a vu le jour en 1963, concrétisé par Joseph Deloncle. Pharmacien de son état et passionné d’art populaire et d’ethnologie, il sillonne le département des Pyrénées-Orientales ainsi que la Cerdagne sud catalane dès les années 1950. Il recueille dans ce cadre un grand nombre d’objets et témoignages du territoire qui renforcent une importante collection constitutive déjà réalisée, depuis le début du XXe siècle, par des sociétés savantes locales telles que la Colla del Rosselló puis la Société Agricole Scientifique et Littéraire (SASL). Georges-Henri Rivière, alors directeur du Musée national des Arts et Traditions Populaires, parraine l’entreprise. Il guide Joseph Deloncle dans sa démarche qui trouve alors écoute auprès de la municipalité. Le fils de Joseph Deloncle, Jacques Gaspard Deloncle, est nommé conservateur et responsable des collections de 1981 à 2012. L'influence de G.-H. Rivière est très présente dans la muséographie des salles, jusqu’en 2014, date à laquelle elle est rénovée afin de l’adapter aux conditions de présentation actuelle, tout en conservant une évocation du musée d’origine avec « La cuisine du mas del Gleix ».
