Sign inLe musée, créé en 1926 par le peintre Emmanuel-Charles Bénézit qui en assure la conservation, occupe jusqu’en 1981 la salle du Conseil municipal de la mairie. La première exposition de peinture est organisée du 28 mars au 11 avril 1926 au foyer « Lou Calen ». Elle regroupe une trentaine d’artistes. Le nouveau musée est inauguré le 8 juillet 1985 et c’est alors G.-H. Pescadère qui en assure la conservation.
